Srinagar, Aug 12 (KNO): The Committee for Fixation and Regulation of Fee of Private Schools (FFRC) on Thursday directed the ‘private schools’ to return and refund the amount that they have charged as the admission fee. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), FFRC has said that one of the private schools of Kashmir has admitted that the admission fee was received from a person who had complained about it in the committee. “The school record, which was submitted by the school management for regulation and determination of its fee structure shows that from the academic session 2015-16 to academic session 2018-19, the school management has been charging and collecting tuition fee Rs.6,000 and in the academic session 2019-20, the tuition fee has been charged with Rs 6360,” FFRC said. The committee further said that the hike in tuition fee amounts to 6 percent of the fee which was being charged by the school management. “The hike in fee structure by 6 percent owes its genesis to the FFRC order issued in 2019,” the committee said. FFRC directed, “In view of the mentioned circumstances, the principal, chairperson, vice-chairperson and the trustees of the private school are directed to return and refund amount of admission fee to the complainant and all other parents from whom admission fee has been charged and collected within fifteen days.”—(KNO)
